Everyone deserves to live in a healthy and safe environment. That environment includes where you live, work, play, and pray. We reject and actively push back against racist rhetoric, actions, policies and institutional oppression that leads to state-sanctioned brutality, gun violence, and harm that again and again assaults communities, particularly communities of color. We are committed to working for justice and equity, and are in solidarity with social, racial, and environmental justice organizations to build community, understanding and honest dialogue to address the root causes of violence, harm and hate.

Raise Your Voice for More Research into Period Product Ingredient Safety!

TAKE ACTION for Safer Menstrual and Intimate Care Products!

Will you raise your voice in support of more research on the impacts ingredients used in menstrual and intimate care products may have on users’ health?

Recently, the Robin Danielson Menstrual Product and Intimate Care Product Safety Act of 2022 (HR 8724) was introduced in Congress. If passed, the bill requires a research program focused on studying the health risks of fragrance ingredients, pesticides, phthalates, titanium dioxide, and other ingredients used in these products.

We know products like douches, washes, wipes and sprays can contain additives linked to hormone disruption, allergens and more. And new disclosure requirements have revealed chemicals used in tampons and pads which can cause skin irritation & allergic reactions, may contain toxic contaminants that can cause cancer, and release microplastic particles into the environment. Research also finds nanosilver in period underwear and pads.

Yet, what we don’t have is the sufficient research necessary to understand the impact these chemicals are having on our health, especially when used in products that come into contact with one of the most absorbent areas of the body.

People deserve to have this very basic but important research done. Please tell your representative to support the bill! Together, we can make a difference.
