Manufacturers face pressure over ingredient disclosure, safety

At the national level, the Menstrual Product Right to Know Act is expected to be reintroduced to the US Congress this spring, according to Jamie McConnell, deputy director for Women’s Voices for the Earth (WVE). It would amend the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act to get many fragrance ingredients listed on product labels. Other right-to-know bills could reemerge as well, including the Cosmetic Safety Enhancement Act and the Personal Care Products Safety Act.
