Everyone deserves to live in a healthy and safe environment. That environment includes where you live, work, play, and pray. We reject and actively push back against racist rhetoric, actions, policies and institutional oppression that leads to state-sanctioned brutality, gun violence, and harm that again and again assaults communities, particularly communities of color. We are committed to working for justice and equity, and are in solidarity with social, racial, and environmental justice organizations to build community, understanding and honest dialogue to address the root causes of violence, harm and hate.

Buy in Bulk = Less Toxics

There are lots of benefits to buying food in bulk! One of the biggest benefits is that you’ll be reducing the amount of packaging that your food comes in. Food often comes packaged in plastic, which can contain the toxic chemical bisphenol-A (BPA), linked to a host of health problems from hormone disruption and breast cancer to diabetes and obesity.

Plastic packaging can also contain phthalates, linked to fertility problems, increased risk of breast cancer, and reproductive harm in baby boys. Buying bulk allows you to cut down on plastic packaging that might contain these toxic chemicals that leach into the food inside.

And, of course, if you’re not buying as much packaging, you’re not throwing as much away! So you’re also reducing the amount of trash that you create.

Finally, one of the best reasons to buy food in bulk: it’s easier on your wallet! Bulk food is often cheaper, so you’ll be saving money while you protect your health and the health of the planet.
