Statement of Support: Rep. Israel’s Cleaning Product Right to Know Act
Women’s Voices for the Earth supports the recently introduced Cleaning Product Right to Know Act sponsored by New York Congressman Steve Israel (D-Huntington). The legislation requires ingredient labeling for household and institutional cleaning products. Under current U.S. law, cleaning products are not required to disclose ingredients.
New Patient Education Campaign Started at Planned Parenthood
In recognition of Women’s Health Week, national women’s health non-profits, Women’s Voices for the Earth (WVE) and Planned Parenthood of Montana have partnered together to launch a patient education campaign on the impact of toxic chemicals on women’s health. The campaign will take place at Planned Parenthood health centers across Montana.
Chemical Used by SC Johnson & Son is Hazardous to Great Lakes and Human Health
National women’s health organization, Women’s Voices for the Earth (WVE), and Michigan Clean Water Action, released a detailed review of the hazards posed by the chemical, Galaxolide, a synthetic musk commonly found in SC Johnson & Son’s scented household cleaning products, that has also been found in the Great Lakes. The analysis identifies Galaxolide as a threat to the environment and human health.
